Where do you receive your funding?
GVF is a non-profit, grass-roots organization. We receive funding from family foundations, grants, and generous individuals from around the world.

How much of your budget goes directly to project work in Vietnam?

Ninety percent of every dollar contributed to GVF goes into project work. Donations can be made to support office operational costs if specified by the donor.

How large is your staff and who establishes GVF's policies?

The US office consists of one full-time staff and volunteers. The Danang office consists of two staff members to oversee projects, as well as a part-time volunteers. Policy is established by our board members.

What role does the Vietnamese government have in GVF’s humanitarian work?

Because our founder is of Vietnamese heritage, the Vietnamese government has been extremely supportive of our efforts. GVF works in co-operation with the Vietnamese government in gaining approval for civic and regional planning for all our projects.

Does the U.S. government have a role in GVF?

No. GVF is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), with no affiliation to the U.S., Vietnamese, or any government.

If I make a donation, is it tax deductible?

Yes, GVF is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Our non-profit tax ID number is 33-0861136.

Do you accept donations of used clothing, toys, books, computers or other things that might be useful for the Vietnamese people?
We accept donations on a case by case basis due to the high costs of shipping overseas. in many cases it is more efficient to purchase items in Vietnam, rather than ship them overseas. Please contact our U.S. office for more information concerning financial or material donations. (We are presently looking for unused or very good condition and high quality dental office equipment and supplies. Please contact our office for more information.

Can I go to Vietnam and visit your projects?
Yes. GVF encourages anyone that is able to visit our projects and meet the people of Vietnam. Vietnam is safe, friendly, and the people are especially cordial to Americans and particularly service veterans. When in Danang, we encourage visitors to visit our programs and projects. We are regularly organizing volunteer groups of doctors, dental professionals, teaching professionals and others that may have special skills to share.
