Education
In 2006, GVF began to focus efforts on the new Portable Libraries Project. Our goal is to bring books to life by setting up libraries in all primary schools throughout rural areas in Vietnam.

Since 2000, GVF has built 5 new schools, and provides school supplies, uniforms, playgrounds, and lunch programs for hundreds of children.

Emergency Relief
Annually, GVF delivers tons of rice and aid to poor areas that have been affected by drought, flood and other natural disasters.

Proceeds from last year's Bridge of Peace Awards went to aid children victimized by the South Asia Tsunami in Thailand and Sri Lanka.

Health and Well-being
In August 2006, GVF will launch its new Dental Health Education Project (DHEP) initiative. The goal: to bring dental hygiene education, preventative dental care, and dental health to tens of thousands of young children throughout the rural villages of Vietnam.

In 2005-2006, GVF partnered with Singaporean students to convert 3 blind centers in income generating massage centers for the blind.

Since 2005, GVF has also constructed 2 new houses for the victims of Agent Orange in Quan Nam Province as well as supported many emergency cases of poverty-stricken families.

Community
GVF has built a large village market named "Binh Ky Market" in Ky La village to serve many villages. It provides villagers a cleaner and more sanitary solution for purchasing food, as well as a place help stimulate the local economy through the sale of food and other products by the village residents.
Cultural Exchange
GVF built a Cultural Vocational Training Center and provided continued funding for 5 years (2000-2005). The Center provides a place where students and villagers can learn trades free of charge.

For the cultural aspect of the center, traditional singing and dancing is taught and performed. It has become a place where international guests, residents of the village, as well as tourists, come to enjoy traditional arts performances.
