Opening the minds of children through books
Throughout schools located in rural areas of central Vietnam, GVF’s Mobile Library and teacher training program introduces primary school aged children to the pleasure and benefits of reading. Each Mobile Library book box contains 300 books for children to enjoy for use at school, at home, book fairs, and read-a-thons. From 2006 to 2017, GVF donated to Vietnam around 5,500 mobile libraries books boxes in schools, mostly in central Vietnam.
Every box contains books with subjects ranging from geography, history, to short stories, with enough books for every grade from first to fifth. We have established our mobile libraries in schools throughout Da Nang and Quang Nam Province. With your help GVF plans to spread the joy of reading to children all across Vietnam in 2014 and beyond.
Da Nang
From 2006 to 2017, GVF has launched mobile libraries at 48 schools across 4 districts in Da Nang, Vietnam. We hope to empower students in rural areas in Da Nang with a love for knowledge. Every time we stop at a school, besides giving students books, GVF conducted workshops in which volunteers had hands-on teaching experiences with students. Volunteers from Singapore and other nations participated in these projects.

Quang Nam
GVF reached the ethnic population in the mountainous area of Dong Giang, Quang Nam. Even with many difficulties, the children could not have been happier when they received the books.
Tra Vinh
GVF has travelled as far south as Tra Vinh, a province in the South West of Vietnam. As the road condition did not accommodate four-wheeled vehicles, we transported the books on scooters.
